Some Photos 2016

January 2, 2016: Amy marries Fadi Greene

We were grateful that the snow came after the wedding.

We have a tradition of working on a big puzzle as a family, which we had put on hold while the kids were too young, but this year we resumed the puzzle tradition.

Every February is Science Fair time!  This year, David won top prize in his grade.  They both did projects related to marble runs.

We were blessed to adopt Sahari and Mariah on March 2.  Their Nana and their cousin Clarissa were able to witness this event.

After the adoption, we celebrated by going to the New Jersey Aqaurium.

Melanie's job has lots of overtime, so she has been very generous; for the twins' birthday she gave a membership to the zoo, and for Peggy's and Andy's birthday, she took them to a Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Daniel wrote a cute story that is supposed to resemble a fairy tale:  pdf

Sahari liked painting this watercolor "Rainbow and Spring Flowers"

Mariah also loves drawing pictures.  This one has "names" written along the top; Mariah does a pretty good imitation of writing.

Amy finished her Phd biochemistry thesis (trypanosomes cause African sleeping sickness).

David is a Boy Scout now; here the troop is on a rafting trip on the Lehigh river.

Before Amy left for her new job in Elgin, IL, we had a baby shower for her.

The annual family reunions were great as always.  Lots of food, games, hiking, campfires, not much sleep.

We vacationed in the mountains of New Hampshire.  We drove up Mt Washington then the men hiked to Lake of the Clouds.  We swam in numerous waterfalls and crystal clear creeks, and the kids caught lots of salamanders.  The weather was clear every day, except rainy day when we went to Clark's Trading Post, a local amusement park.

Another soccer season

For our thirtieth anniversary, the kids surprised us by sending us to the Sequoia National Park in California for a week.  Melanie used a full week of her vacation to watch her younger siblings.    We saw lots of sequoias, most impressive the General Sherman tree, the largest (by volume) living being in the world, waterfalls (including a 9.2 mile round trip hike to Mist Falls), the Crystal Caverns tour, breathtaking drives with sharp curves around Kings Canyon, and the final afternoon in Fresno seeing the Forestiere Underground Gardens and the Big Fresno Fair.  And Peggy loved no cooking and no washing dishes!

Halloween is always a big deal.  the weekend before thanksgiving, Peggy and the kids visited Melanie (the girls enjoyed a new playground).  We also put a tire swing and a hammock next to the trampoline in the back yard this summer.

Melanur Lucia Greene was born the day after Thanksgiving!
